Subject	Guys are flames out of the exhaust normal?

Message	I finally found my exhaust leak that I have been chasing down for 2 weeks. Anyways when I was fixing it I had the cats cut out and had 3in. test pipes put in so my car is catless. My precats were gutted when I got the car. Anyways I had a buddy of mine get in and rev my car while I was outside to see how it sounded. Well as it got closer to the rev limter and he hit the gas again a flame about 2 feet or so would come out of the exhaust so I was wondering if this is bad for anything other than my rear bumper? I know it looks cool as hell though. Just not wanting to damage anything bc this car is very expensive to maintain as most of you know.. It also does this around 65 when I floor it and right as the engine downshifts and hits boost. Well anyways thanks a lot for all the help guys.
